CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu is set to set up an Olympic and Motor Sports City as part of its plans to create modern sports infrastructure and boost sports-related activities in the state.The Tamil Nadu Olympic City will have international standard sports arenas, a high-performance training centre, and accommodation facilities for athletes and coaches.It aims to provide better training and competition facilities and develop athletes capable of competing at the national and international levels.The separate motorsport city will contain a modern motorsport complex and supporting infrastructure. Facilities will be created to host Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4 races.It will also provide training opportunities and help identify and develop young motorsport talent.The motorsport city is expected to attract leading car racing and car manufacturing companies to the state. The project is also expected to create opportunities in tourism, employment and related economic activities.
