Lamine Kamara to Chelsea off the pitch after Monaco went back on their word


Lamine Kamara’s move to Chelsea has reportedly fallen through after Monaco backed out of the deal.

Now, according to David Ornstein, the Ligue 1 side have pulled out of the deal at the last minute as they proceed to sell Folarin Balogun to Everton.

The two clubs had a full written interclub agreement, and Chelsea are said to be furious at the decision, describing it as a highly unprofessional way of conducting business.

Kamara had already agreed a six-year contract with Chelsea with the option to extend for a further 12 months, completed a medical and was due to arrive in London on Wednesday.

Chelsea now look short in midfield, with Enzo Fernandes’ £125m move to Manchester City expected to be confirmed soon.

Xabi Alonso currently has Moises Caicedo, Valentin Barco, Jordan Henderson, Romeo Lafia and captain Reece James available in the position.
