India name replacement as spinner ruled out of T20WC 2026 | ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, 2026

The event’s technical committee for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup has approved Prema Rawat as Shriyanka Patel’s replacement in the India squad.
Rawat, who was already in England for the India A tour, will now join the Women’s T20 World Cup squad.
The 24-year-old, who is suffering from a broken leg, has not featured in any international matches, but impressed in her recent appearance in the Women’s Super League and also in the Women’s Asian Cup. She picked up eight wickets at an average of 9.62 for India A in the latter.
Patel returned to international cricket from injury earlier this year, featuring in India’s win over Pakistan where she finished with 0/17 from three overs.
