Matthew Ford player of the match: Yeah, for me, it was more about winning, you know. Getting over the line is always a good thing, especially against this opponent. I have some good friends here too. But, you know, it’s always good to get two points at home and start our campaign. For me, you know, I texted Aven, our guy left and I told him I wanted to do some extra work before the meeting. I did some extra homework today, and fortunately for me, I was able to get the ball into the right areas. I did something upfront early on, and managed to get a few early Powerplay wickets. So, you know, that’s always a good thing in terms of putting the opposition under pressure. So it felt really good. For me, I want to see myself as a match winner, whether it’s with the ball, the bat or the field. You know, I always want to have that positive influence on my team. So, you know, in any department, and since being an all-rounder gives me that privilege, I will look to leverage all departments
What an amazing game of cricket despite the rain break! We’ve seen a lot of wickets. First it was Ford for ABF, then Saint Lucia turned on the heat, eventually picking up seven wickets and battling their hearts out. What a nerve-wracking, rain-cracked affair! First, it was Ford who created chaos with his swing and accuracy. Then came Shamar Springer and Joshua James, who took three wickets in a row. The Kings held their nerve in the end and prevailed, but not before collapsing dramatically along the way
