Sony has announced a collaboration with Rockstar Games to introduce some GTA 6-branded DualSense controllers to the market, offering “Vice City’s unmistakable style,” it said in a blog post earlier today. It seems that marketing efforts for Grand Theft Auto VI are ramping up a little more following the 26-minute-long “An Extended Look” Netflix special last week.

The controllers will be available in Black and White colorways when they go up for pre-order next week, on September 10. Besides the design, something that’ll catch your eye is the price – $84.99 / €84.99/ £74.99 – making these limited-edition controllers $5 more than the Standard Edition of the game itself. They still undercut the $100 Ultimate Editionat least.

Sony says the upcoming GTA 6 controller will be “available in limited quantities” and exclusive to the PlayStation Store across a wide range of regions, listed below:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Spain
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Belgium
  • Luxembourg

The controllers’ $85 price tag more or less matches other AAA game tie-ins as of late. Over on the official PlayStation Storepre-orders for Marvel’s Wolverine-branded controllers will set you back $84, and the same can be said for the special-edition 007 First Light model. GTA 6 is still scheduled to launch on November 19, and we expect these limited-edition pads to shift pretty quickly.

Rockstar Games has officially said GTA 6 “plays best on PS5” in previous marketing, so it’s no surprise to see the PlayStation platform get more love in the form of extra merchandise. Reports also suggest PS5 sales are faring better than rival Xbox.
