2026 Honda Elevate Facelift Spied In India Ahead Of Launch

Honda appears to have started testing the updated Elevate SUV in India, with a heavily camouflaged prototype recently spotted on public roads. The test mule suggests that Honda is preparing a mid-life update for Elevatewhich was first launched in India in September 2023. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the camouflage hides key styling elements at both ends, hinting at cosmetic revisions.
New Front And Rear Design Elements
The latest spy shots reveal extensive camouflage. This suggests updates to the bumper designgrille and lighting elements. At the rear, the prototype appears to feature revised tail lamp graphics, although the final design remains concealed under camouflage.

The overall body shape, greenhouse and side profile remain largely unchanged, indicating that Honda is focusing on visual enhancements rather than a complete redesign. The SUV continues to retain its upright proportions, large glass area and practical stance that have been key highlights of the current Elevate.
New Features Likely
Apart from exterior revisions, the Elevate facelift is expected to receive updates to its feature list. Honda could introduce additional convenience and safety equipment to keep the SUV competitive against newer rivals in the midsize SUV segment.

Interior changes are likely to include revised upholstery, new trim finishes and updates to the infotainment system. Honda may also expand the availability of ADAS features across more variants. The current Elevate already offers Honda Sensing on top trims, and the facelift could further strengthen its technology package.

Powertrain To Remain Unchanged
Under the hood, no major changes are expected. The facelifted Elevate is likely to continue with Honda’s proven 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine that develops 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are expected to remain unchanged as well, including the 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic. There is currently no indication of hybrid option for the India-spec Elevate. Honda appears set to continue with its existing powertrain strategy while focusing on design and feature enhancements.
Facelift To Keep Elevate Relevant Amid Honda’s Bigger Product Push
While Honda Elevate made a strong start after launch, sales have gradually settled at relatively modest levels compared to segment leaders. Over the last 10 months, Elevate has averaged around 1,900 units per monthsignificantly lower than rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Maruti Victoris, Toyota HyRyder, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. Elevate’s cumulative sales during the period stand at 17,071 units, highlighting the need for stronger product differentiation in one of India’s most competitive SUV segments.

The upcoming facelift is expected to play a crucial role in maintaining Elevate’s competitiveness until Honda’s next wave of products arrives. Honda Cars India has already outlined plans to introduce 10 new models by 2030. Among these will be an all-new midsize SUV and a new sub-4 metre compact SUVboth expected to arrive from 2028 onwards.
Before that, Honda’s India lineup will see the arrival of its first mass-market electric SUVbased on the 0 Series platform. Testing of this EV has already commenced, with launch expected in 2027. Against this backdrop, the Elevate facelift will serve as an important update to keep Honda relevant in the midsize SUV segment, offering refreshed styling, upgraded features and improved technology while the company prepares its broader product offensive for the Indian market.
