Women’s Wimbledon semi-final predictions

Marta Kostyuk vs. Linda Noskova

Jordan:
Noskova A quarter-final win over Elise Mertens is good preparation for this challenge. Kostyuk shares the same great backhand and willingness to cancel in rallies. However, the Ukrainian has a higher ceiling, as well as a greater ability to be aggressive in rallies. She was fantastic against Yasmine Paolini, and I don’t think she will be denied a place in the final.

prediction: Noskova and 2

beautiful:
Marta Kostyuk was just 6-5 at Wimbledon before this tournament and has now achieved the best result of her career here when she faces Linda Noskova in the semi-finals.

This is a great opportunity for both players to reach their first Grand Slam final, in a match that will be more or less decided by which player will achieve the most dominant baseline on the day.

Kostyuk will look to counter-punch and use powerful shots when needed, while Noskova will look to control the pace of the match with her flat groundstrokes. While Kostyuk has recently gained experience playing semifinals at the French Open, I think Noskova’s performance translates better on this surface as she continues what was her best career at SW19.

prediction: Noskova and 3

Noreen:
This is officially Marta Kostyuk’s best season ever. And if there were any lingering questions about her adaptability on grass, she answered them. But I still consider Noskova a slight favorite. She had perhaps the best preparation, winning a tune-up event and testing herself against some of the WTA’s elite. She is able to hit the court with very little backswing and has tremendous discipline in her shots. It’s probably one of the more even contests, but I’ll give the slight edge to Noskova.

prediction: Noskova and 3

sixty: Noskova on grass should have an advantage but she is not dominant. Kostyuk is playing her best ever on this surface, but Noskova’s flat stroke should be able to trouble her enough to gain the upper hand.

prediction: Noskova and 2
