1. Design

A few months ago, the design patent of the Chery Tiggo 7L was leaked, hinting towards the launch of this Chinese SUV. While many manufacturers are trying to make their cars look boxier to look more butch and rugged, the Tiggo 7L has taken a sleeker approach. The Chery SUV has a sharp front-end design with sleek headlights and an imposing front grille. Down the side, the SUV does have a sporty and flowing design. Moving to the rear, the Tiggo 7L has a unique design with an integrated roof spoiler and a pair of funky taillights. On the inside, Chery has gone for a minimalist approach with a dual-tone cabin and one massive screen dominating the dashboard.

2. Features

Competing with the Tata Harrier and putting up a tough fight will require the Tiggo 7L to have a suite of features. The international-spec of this SUV gets a slew of features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ADAS and much more. Offering these features, along with a few additional India-specific ones, might just make the Tiggo 7L a stronger proposition.

3. Engine Options

There is no official information on the Chery Tiggo 7L’s powertrain options. In China, the 7-seater SUV gets two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (158bhp & 250Nm) and a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine (197bhp & 310Nm). We believe that the India-spec Tiggo 7L will be offered with the same engine options. JSW could offer a petrol hybrid powertrain as well.

4. Pricing

As the Chery Tiggo 7L will be competing with the Tata Harrier, we can expect the SUV to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 29 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). If the brand does decide to offer a hybrid powertrain, the price could go up to Rs 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
