Two young men die of a drug overdose in Bathinda

Bathinda: In a tragic incident, the bodies of two young men were seen in Bathinda on Friday. A syringe was found stuck in a young man’s arm, raising suspicions that they may have died of a drug overdose.The deceased has been identified as Gurwinder Singh (29) and Kuldeep Singh (25). According to sources, they both returned from an addiction treatment center just a few days ago.After reporting the incident, NGO volunteers reached Bir Basti on the outskirts of Bathinda town and found two youths dead on the road. Volunteers informed the police, and they prepared a video of the two deceased young men. After the police reached the spot, the bodies were shifted to Bathinda Civil Hospital. Later, they were taken to AIIMS in Bathinda,” said an NGO volunteer.According to sources, Pir Basti and nearby Pir Talab village have been identified as hotspots for drug abuse. Bathinda DSP (rural) Harwinder Singh confidentially said that after getting the information, the police reached the spot and took the bodies to AIIMS. The police officer said: “The cause of death will not be known until after receiving the forensic report.”
