TCA issues legal notices to Vijay Deverakonda, Siraj and others

Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has issued legal notices to actors Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh, along with Indian cricketers Tilak Varma, Ambati Rayudu and Mohammed Siraj, over their alleged association with the proposed TG20 league.
According to reports, TCA claimed that the tournament did not get the required approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The association raised concerns about the legitimacy of the league and the role of celebrities in promoting it.
What is the notice about?
TCA reportedly claimed in its notice that Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Conducts business with legal entities without obtaining a license from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The association also claimed that promoting the proposed TG20 league without the approval of the governing body would amount to a violation of the cricket regulations.
TCA officials also questioned the tournament’s regulatory status and expressed concerns about the potential impact of celebrity endorsement on the public if the league did not obtain the necessary permits.
TCA intensifies its opposition to the TG20 League
The latest development represents a major escalation in the ongoing dispute between TCA and HCA over the TG20 league. The TCA emphasized that any cricket league must obtain mandatory approvals under BCCI regulations before launching or promoting it.
Apart from issuing notices to celebrities associated with the league, TCA officials reportedly urged sponsors and supporters to clarify their participation in the tournament.
No response yet from celebrities
So far, there has been no public reaction from Vijay Deverakonda or Venkatesh to the legal notices or allegations made by TCA. Likewise, there has been no official response from Mohammed Siraj, Tilak Varma or Ambati Rayudu regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, the two actors remain busy with their professional commitments. Venkatesh is currently working on Adarsha Kutumbam, directed by Trivikram, while Vijay Deverakonda is busy with his upcoming projects including Ranabaali.
