Skoda Slavia Facelift Teased Ahead of Launch on 18 August

The Skoda Slavia facelift has been teased for the first time ahead of its official India launch on 18 August. This is a mid-life update for the sedan is expected to be along the lines of what we saw in the Kushaq facelift earlier this year.

Spy images have indicated at changes in the front and rear for the exterior design, while the cabin is expected to get a bigger screen, a new virtual cockpit and, of course, the rear seat massager. Not expected to feature on this list 360-degree camera or an ADAS package and both of these will arrive in the next-gen Slavia.

However, one big change will be a new eight-speed AT for the 1.0-litre TSI petrol. This replaces the six-speed AT. This engine produces 118bhp and 178Nm. The bigger engine is Skoda’s 1.5-litre TSI petrol producing 148bhp and 250Nm. It can only be had with a seven-speed DCT.

Rivals for the Slavia include the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Volkswagen Virtus. This mid-life update is expected to be the final upgrade for this first-gen Slavia, and a new one could arrive in the second half of 2027 with new underpinnings, an extended feature list, level 2 ADAS and multiple powertrain options.
