Real Madrid product Victor Muñoz has signed for Liverpool after the English club activated the €40 million release clause in his contract with Osasuna. In this deal, Real Madrid will receive approximately 25.5 million euros in total.
This figure includes the original €5 million fee that Osasuna paid to acquire Muñoz, an additional €500,000 linked to performance-related conditions, and a 50 percent share of the release clause that Liverpool paid to complete the transfer.

There were rumors suggesting that Real Madrid could have brought Muñoz back into the team this summer, but Los Blancos ultimately decided to stay away as Newcastle and Liverpool both competed for his signature. Other reports suggest that Real Madrid will retain another option to buy back Muñoz and the ability to match future offers for the winger.
