New Audi A6 Allroad Debuts

Off-road-y versions of Wagons or Estates offer rugged mechanicals, rough road ability, higher ground clearance and more. Audi has just debuted the Allroad version of its A6 Avant launched last year, for a starting price of EUR 77,250 (approx Rs 84.61 lakh) in Germany and is expected to launch in other global markets like North America soon.
What wasn’t expected, was the sheer drama the 2027 Audi A6 Allroad brings to the table as it now comes with a host of standard equipment like lifted suspension, Quattro AWD system, rear-wheel steering and for the first time for an Audi Estate, a widebody kit, a treatment which used to be previously reserved for RS6 only.

New Audi A6 AllRoad
Audi used to offer the widebody treatment only to its high-performance flagship Estate vehicle, the RS6. With the launch of 2027 Audi A6 Allroad, the exclusivity of widebody that RS6 used to enjoy, is now extended for mainstream buyers. A6 Allroad is based on the A6 Avant, but is distinguished by the widebody treatment and more.
When we say more, we mean more ground clearance, which is up by 34 mm and then Allroad gets body and wheel arch claddings for extra protection. The widebody treatment for A6 Allroad has made it 111 mm wider than A6 Avant. Both front and rear axles have been widened to accommodate larger wheels that go up to 21-inches in size and tyres up to 285/35.

Audi A6 Allroad continues to get similar Matrix LED headlights as A6 Avant along with the large front grille, swoopy roofline, large window area, connected rear multi-layer LED tail lights, semi-flush door handles, sporty rear bumpers and the same interiors with 14.5-inch infotainment screen, 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, optional 10.5-inch front passenger screen, new steering wheel and gloss Black centre console.
Diesel, PHEV Engine Options
For the first time, Audi A6 Allroad has been offered with a PHEV setup (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) called A6 Allroad E-Hybrid. This setup consists of a 2.0L Turbo Petrol and a 20.7 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. Total system output is rated at 362 bhp and 500 Nm and promises a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds, 250 km/h top speed and 95 km pure EV range.

Then there is the tried and tested 3.0L Turbo Diesel V6 with 295 bhp and 580 Nm and a 0-100 km/h sprint 5.4 seconds, which is quicker than the PHEV setup. With the new A6 Allroad, Audi is offering rear wheel steering and Quattro AWD system as standard. Rear wheel steering is rated to offer 5-degrees of bi-directional movement, opposite direction as front wheels for manoeuvrability and same direction for high-speed stability.
