World’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume reaches another major milestone as FY26 sales exceed 5.26 lakh units

Mahindra Farm Equipment Business (FEB), part of the Mahindra Group, has achieved a significant manufacturing milestone by surpassing cumulative production of 70 lakh tractors. The achievement further strengthens Mahindra’s position as the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume.

Over Six Decades Of Tractor Manufacturing

Mahindra entered the tractor business in 1963 and has since grown into one of the largest farm equipment manufacturers globally. The milestone covers tractors produced across Mahindra’s various brands, including Mahindra Tractors, Swaraj Tractors and Gromax Agri Equipment, which markets the Trakstar and Hindustan range of tractors.

The company currently operates multiple manufacturing facilities across India, including plants at Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Jaipur and Rajkot. Swaraj Tractors has its manufacturing and R&D operations in Mohali, while Gromax operates from Vadodara. Today, Mahindra offers more than 350 tractor models and variants across different power and application segments, supported by an expanding portfolio of farm machinery and mechanisation solutions.

Strong FY26 Performance

The 70 lakh production milestone comes on the back of a strong FY26 performance for Mahindra’s farm equipment division. The company recorded annual tractor sales of more than 5.26 lakh units during the financial year, one of its highest-ever sales performances.

Recent product introductions have included the Mahindra 585 YUVO TECH+ V1, Mahindra NOVO Premium Edition and Swaraj Protek range. Mahindra has also been expanding its OJA tractor platform into global markets. Looking ahead, the company has outlined plans to introduce seven new tractor models and 12 new feature upgrades during FY27 across the Mahindra and Swaraj portfolios.

Global Presence Across 50 Markets

Mahindra Farm Equipment Business currently exports and operates in more than 50 countries worldwide. Apart from India, the United States remains one of the company’s key overseas markets, where Mahindra has maintained a presence for over three decades and operates two assembly facilities.
