Luis Enrique hints at Bradley Barcola’s exit

Liverpool’s quest to sign Bradley Barkola has received another potential boost after Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique appeared to hint that the winger could leave the club this summer.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with Liverpool understood to have identified the 23-year-old as one of their main targets as they continue to bolster their attacking options.
Barkola’s situation has become increasingly interesting after being left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s recent European Super Cup win.
The winger remained on the bench as Luis Enrique’s side cruised to a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, while his reaction throughout also caught the eye, with Barkola looking depressed and seemingly unhappy despite PSG lifting another title.
Enrique’s comments in his latest press conference have now heightened the speculation surrounding the winger’s future.
The Paris Saint-Germain coach said: “When a player does not smile when he comes here, it is better to look for another solution.”
These comments are unlikely to alleviate suggestions that Barkola may be considering his options, especially with Liverpool continuing to monitor the situation closely.
The bid is in the region of £100m plus several add-ons linked to the Premier League and Champions League successes the club may achieve.
However, the Parisian team is holding back on additions, because it wants more achievable clauses regarding things like player performance for example.
They feel that the current proposals from Liverpool are difficult to achieve, as success in the Champions League is not guaranteed but is realistic. The back and forth clash between the clubs will continue.
This figure remains lower than Paris Saint-Germain’s valuation, meaning negotiations will still be required if Liverpool want to complete the deal.
Liverpool are also expected to make an opening bid for another Paris Saint-Germain winger in the coming days. according to Loic Tanzi from L’EquipeThe Reds are preparing to make their first bid for Ibrahim Mbaye, with the 18-year-old emerging as another potential attacking target.
More intrigue has emerged from Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer activity, with DaveOCKOP also covering the news that… The French champions have reached an agreement to sign Ajax winger Mika Godetswho will likely fill the void if Barkola departs.
Liverpool’s interest therefore looks increasingly serious, while Paris Saint-Germain may already be preparing for the possibility of losing one of their key attacking players.
And with Enrique now publicly suggesting that the unhappy player should consider another solution, it appears the door has been left open for Barcola to make his next move.
It remains to be seen whether the move will eventually take him to Anfield, but Liverpool’s opening display and the latest developments in Paris make the situation worth monitoring closely.
