He Worked As Security Guard In Canada, Cleaned Toilets And Delivered Newspaper – Today His Net Worth Is Rs 150 Crore

Remember the song Angreji Beat? Punjabi star Gippy Grewal lent his voice as the lead vocalist for the song. Honey Singh composed, produced and performed the rap portions, while Gippy’s vocals played a key role in making the track a mass success. Today, Gippy is one of the biggest names in the Punjabi entertainment industry. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

The actor-singer is gearing up for the release of Carry On Jatta 4, directed by Smeep Kang and co-starring Sargun Mehta and Binnu Dhillon. The film is set to hit the theatres on June 26. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

In a recent conversation with Bharti TV, Gippy spoke about his early struggles. He shared that he had to borrow money to finance his first music album. Unfortunately, the album failed to make an impact. His second album also did not perform well. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

He then moved to Canada with his wife, Ravneet Kaur, where he decided to try again and released his third album. The decision eventually changed his life. One song from the album, Phulkari, became a huge success. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

The track became a major hit; however, it did not immediately translate into financial stability. The singer credited the song with turning his fortunes around and opening doors in the music industry. While the song was widely played in Canada and India, he still needed a regular job to support his family. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

The singer shared, “I used to work as a security guard back then. Even though my song was a hit, I had to make money to survive and for my family. I knew that until I have a high income as a performer or singer, I needed to work to pay the bills.” (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

One of his duties involved guarding a closed factory overnight. After completing his security shift at around 4 am, Gippy would pick up his wife and the two would head out to deliver newspaper for the next couple of hours. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

“In other jobs, I would make 8 dollars, but in the mall cleaning job, I would get almost 13 dollars. Like with the newspapers, my wife and I would think that this is our time together. So we would keep talking the whole time and get done with that job in two hours,” he said. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)

Years later, Gippy Grewal’s story has become one of Punjabi entertainment’s biggest success stories. According to recent report by PTC Punjabi, Gippy’s estimated net worth in 2026 is reportedly between Rs 120 crore and Rs 150 crore. (Image: Instagram/@gippygrewal)
