England hope Skiver-Brent troublesome calf injury again | ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, 2026

Sciver-Brunt injured her calf in April and was out of the recent T20I series against New Zealand and India due to injury as teammate Charlie Dean stepped up and performed the captain’s role with aplomb.
Dean could once again take over the reins if Skiver-Brandt misses a game throughout the tournament, with Knight hoping her current skipper will return to face Scotland on Saturday.
“We really hope she’s okay, but I think one thing we’ve shown over the last two series is that we’ve been able to do things well without Nat,” Knight noted.
“I think Deano (Dean) did a great job replacing Nat. It’s all good, but obviously we’ll cross that bridge and hopefully, if we have to.”
“It totally depends on the nature of her injury. Obviously, if she’s fit and healthy, she’ll be excited to play, and I think it’s important to keep building as a team. And yes, if she’s fit, she’ll play. If she’s not fit, I think she won’t.”
