The Eastern District has emerged winner of the Dengue Prevention League (DPL) organized by the Coimbatore Corporation to identify and remove mosquito breeding sources, including discarded plastic containers and other water-collecting materials.
The league was held from August 4 to 14 across Coimbatore and recorded 44,65,735 cut points across the five zones.
The Eastern Region topped the number with 11,84,259 source reduction operations, followed by the Western Region with 11,04,773. The central, northern and southern regions recorded 9,43,248, 8,92,714 and 3,40,741 reductions, respectively.
