Ancient Greek elites may have worn rings of meteoric iron

A chemical study of 91 ancient iron objects suggests that meteoric iron was not just a rare curiosity in Bronze Age Greece. It is likely that at least ten rings were made of metal that fell from the sky, and their burial contexts suggest that this unusual material may have served as a visible badge of authority among Minoan and Mycenaean elites. Nickel indicates a heavenly source
