Apple’s next major iPhone event is only days away, but the leaks have not stopped. With the September 9 event approaching, fresh claims are filling in some of the remaining gaps around the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, including possible colors, the shape and pricing of Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone Ultra, and one notable absence from recent accessory leaks.
Mashable has compiled the latest round of leaks and reports emerging ahead of Apple’s September event.
None of these details have been officially confirmed by Apple, but taken together, the latest rumors offer a clearer picture of what could be coming, and perhaps just as importantly, what may not arrive this fall.
iPhone 18 Pro case leaks reveal four possible colors
Some of the most recent clues have come from third-party accessory makers, which have posted renders of cases said to be designed for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra.
The renders are not being presented as photographs of the actual phones. Still, they may offer an early indication of the devices’ dimensions and overall shape. The Ultra, in particular, appears in the leaks as a short, wide foldable with two cameras on the rear.
For the Pro models, the case imagery has surfaced in four shades described as deep burgundy, light gray, black and misty blue. Those colors have reportedly appeared in earlier speculation around the devices as well.
The more interesting detail, however, may be the phone that does not appear in the leaked case lineup.
There are no renders for the standard iPhone 18. That absence adds weight to growing speculation that Apple could hold the base model until next spring, leaving its higher-end Pro and Ultra devices to take centre stage during the fall launch cycle.
For now, that remains a rumor rather than a confirmed change to Apple’s release schedule.
iPhone Ultra pricing could push well beyond $2,000
The rumored iPhone Ultra is attracting particular attention because Apple has no equivalent 2025 model that offers a straightforward pricing comparison.
One claim posted by EVDownunder on X cited information attributed to Vodafone Australia and listed prices of AUD 3,699 for 256GB, AUD 4,199 for 512GB and AUD 4,699 for 1TB.
After currency conversion, that information points to a price of roughly $2,600 for the Ultra. Mashable also noted an International Data Corporation estimate of around $2,550, while Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said he expects the device to cost at least $2,000.
The different estimates do not settle the final retail price, but they all point in the same direction: Apple’s first foldable could sit comfortably above the company’s conventional iPhone range.
Rumored iPhone Ultra specs begin to take shape
The latest information also provides a more detailed picture of how Apple’s foldable could work.
Gurman has said the device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display. He also expects MagSafe support, addressing one of the open questions surrounding the foldable design.
The hinge has been compared with those used in recent Samsung foldables. That suggests the crease or hinge area may not disappear entirely, although it could be relatively subtle.
Timing may also be less of an issue than some earlier speculation suggested. Gurman expects the Ultra to become available within weeks of Apple’s September 9 event, broadly around the same period as the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Separately, the Vodafone Australia-related leak claimed pre-orders for the foldable could begin on September 12, although that date has not been confirmed by Apple.
What to watch at Apple’s iPhone 18 launch
The final days before an Apple event are often dominated by increasingly specific leaks, and this year appears to be following that pattern.
The broad outline is becoming clearer: new Pro models are expected, the foldable Ultra is drawing attention for both its design and potential price, and accessory leaks are raising fresh questions about whether the regular iPhone 18 will launch alongside them.
What remains uncertain is where the rumors end and Apple’s final product lineup begins. The September 9 event should settle the biggest questions, including the final devices, colors, prices and release timing.
Until then, the absence of a standard iPhone 18 from the latest case leaks may be the most revealing clue of all.
