Actress Was Pregnant When Husband Allegedly Cheated, She Found ‘Evidence’ In His Bag, He Then Accused Her Of An Affair

TV actress Charu Asopa married Rajeev Sen, brother of actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, in 2019. The couple welcomed their daughter Ziana in 2021, but their marriage later became troubled owing to cheating allegations.

Charu said she eventually found evidence of the alleged affair in Rajeev’s bag after he went to Delhi without telling her. She recalled in an interview with Hindustan Times, “I found condoms in his bag”.

Charu Asopa alleged that Rajeev Sen cheated on her while she was pregnant. She said she spent much of her pregnancy in Mumbai while Rajeev would leave home for hours and return late. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she said that Rajeev sometimes claimed he had slept in his car and gave her other excuses for staying out for long periods.

She said Rajeev often gave her explanations for his long absences. At one point, she said he told her he would sit in Bandra cafes until traffic eased, and at other times claimed he spent time at cafes.

Charu also accused Rajeev of physical abuse and said she had called the police and filed a complaint. She said she repeatedly forgave him when he apologised because she loved him and wanted to make the marriage work.

The couple married in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Ziana in 2021. Due to the allegations, their marriage later went through repeated break-ups and reconciliations before they finally divorced in June 2023.

Charu said they had once called off their divorce after Rajeev promised that their problems would not happen again. She said they decided to give the marriage another chance for their daughter, but the reconciliation did not last.

Rajeev denied Charu’s allegations and also accused her of having an affair with actor Karan Mehra. Charu rejected his claim and called him a liar, while Rajeev said he had received voice notes from Charu’s mother about the alleged relationship.

After their divorce, Charu said she wanted to maintain a cordial relationship with Rajeev for Ziana’s sake. She said their daughter should be able to spend time with her father and should not have to see her parents in an unhappy or toxic relationship.
