Voyah Passion S launches with uncut video to prove its 360° tunnel loop stunt authenticity

Today, Dongfeng‘s Voyah officially launched the Passion Sa new mid-to-large pure electric FUV. The vehicle enters the market with three trim levels priced between 229,900 yuan (33,800 USD) and 279,900 yuan (41,200 USD). Last monthit opened for pre-sales with the top-trim model priced at 309,900 yuan (45,600 USD).

On August 13, Voyah announced that the Passion S had successfully completed a “360° Tunnel Big Loop”. While Voyah insisted the footage was a real recording without special effects, the clip sparked immediate online backlash, some CarNewsChina readers also doubt its authenticity.

A leaked video of a failed attempt had already indirectly supported the challenge’s authenticity, showing a camouflaged Passion S prototype falling from the tunnel ceiling. The willingness to risk multiple prototype vehicles suggests a physical attempt rather than a purely digital creation, while the lack of a catastrophic fire during the crash further underscores the safety of modern EV batteries.

To address these doubts, Voyah released a “one-take” uncut video of the stunt during today’s official launch event.

Design
The Passion S features a “Kunpeng Wing” front face, floating star-ring headlights with a luminous brand logo, and a drag coefficient of 0.24. The car is equipped with an active intake grille, 10 sets of through-type wind ducts, and 19 genuine air vents. The vehicle is available in seven colours, including Leap-Day Red and Twilight Purple.

Externally, the SUV has a fastback silhouette with 21-inch wheels and performance callipers. It includes dual load-bearing hooks on the tailgate (supporting 3kg each), designed for hanging projection screens during camping. The dimensions are 5050 x 1998 x 1656mm with a 3000mm wheelbase.

Interior
Inside, the Passion S features a wrap-around cockpit with a triple-screen setup: dual 15.6-inch 2.5K floating centre screens, a 29-inch HD AR-HUD, and an 8.8-inch 2K instrument cluster. It runs on the Harmony Space 5.2 cockpit, supporting the MoLA large-model voice interaction.

Additional premium amenities include a 2160W audio system with 27 speakers and a 6.6L intelligent refrigerator capable of temperatures from -6°C to 50°C.

Intelligence
The Passion S deploys a new-generation dual-path 896-line LiDAR and five 4D millimetre-wave radars. This hardware supports Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5.0, enabling City NCA, Highway NCA, and “Parking-to-Parking” P2P 3.0.

Safety is anchored by a cage-style body with a high-strength material ratio of 91.3%, achieving a torsional rigidity of 48,415 N·m/deg. For extreme scenarios, the car provides triple-redundant unlocking (mechanical handles and door knobs) for emergency escape.

Power and charging
The Passion S offers two powertrain configurations:

  • RWD: Single rear motor with a peak power of 300 kW (402 hp).
  • AWD: Dual motors (front 175 kW/ 235hp, rear 300 kW/402 hp) with a combined peak power of 475 kW (637 hp).

Equipped with 800V 5C fast-charging and battery options of 81 kWh or 98 kWh, the CLTC range varies from 630 km to 740 km. A 10-minute charge can boost the battery from 20% to 80%, adding up to 474 km of range. The chassis utilises double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension, with high-end models featuring air suspension and CDC electromagnetic damping.
