Powertrain

One of the major reasons behind the huge sales of the Nexon is the offering of a wide variety of powertrains. And with the update, the next generation is expected to carry on with similar CNG, petrol, diesel, and electric options. Featuring a 1.2-litre turbo petrol (118 bhp & 170 Nm), 1.2-litre turbo petrol+CNG (99 bhp & 170 Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (113 bhp & 260 Nm), and, in addition to this, the 30kWh and 45kWh battery packs. Alongside these engine options, one can also choose between a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCA gearbox. There are some discussions that the automaker is developing a hybrid powertrain, which could make its way into the Nexon later, but there is no official word on it.
