Samsung opens pre-reservations for next Galaxy foldables ahead of Unpacked

Samsung has opened pre-reservations in India for its next generation of Galaxy foldable smartphones, ahead of their global unveiling at Galaxy Unpacked in London on July 22.

Customers can secure a pre-reservation by paying a refundable token amount of Rs 999, through Samsung.com, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Amazon.in, Flipkart.com and leading retail outlets across the country. Those who pre-reserve will receive benefits worth Rs 2,799 at the time of purchase. Samsung said it has continued making its foldables thinner, lighter, stronger and more immersive with each generation, combining AI capabilities with the form factor to deliver more personalised, adaptive experiences.

Samsung Electronics president and CEO TM Roh has previewed the company’s priorities ahead of the event, describing the current period as an “agentic age” in which AI acts on a person’s behalf while the individual retains final decision-making power. For AI to act on someone’s behalf, he said, it must first understand them, making the devices through which people encounter AI increasingly important.

Roh pointed to Samsung’s device ecosystem — phones, tablets, watches, televisions and home appliances — as the foundation for building a fuller picture of each user, with newer form factors such as foldables and intelligent eyewear further expanding where AI can meet users. He also stressed openness, citing SmartThings, alongside the harder task of making intelligence personal and trustworthy. On security, he said Samsung Knox protects individual devices and the connections between them, keeping sensitive personal data on-device so users retain control.

Looking ahead to Unpacked, Roh said Samsung would demonstrate more natural, personal AI experiences built on a platform for partners to build upon, framing the defining question as not who has the smartest AI, but who understands people best.

Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for July 22 in London and will be streamed live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel from 6.30 pm IST.
