Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Box Office: Varun Dhawan starrer collects Rs 75 lakh on 2nd Wednesday, targets Rs 50 crore finish
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai witnessed a drop of 25 per cent on its second Wednesday (Day 13) from Monday. It added around Rs. 75 lakh to the tally, taking the second week’s cume to Rs. 9.80 crore in 6 days. The movie is expected to wind up this week around Rs. 10.50-11 crore nett.
The running cume of the Varun Dhawan starrer currently stands at Rs. 45.70 crore nett at the Indian box office. Touted to be David Dhawan’s last film, the romantic comedy drama is expected to close its entire theatrical run around Rs. 50 crore mark, which is not anything game-changing but a face-shaving figure.
I am young so there is love met with mixed-bag reactions, which is why it is struggling at the box office. Fans will have to wait a little longer for Varun’s perfect comeback.
The rom-com genre and mid-scale films are struggling in the post-pandemic times in general. One of the prime reasons is the erosion of the theatrical base by digital platforms. The current 8-week OTT window is directly undermining the theatrical business, conditioning audiences to simply wait for the streaming release.
