Shahid Kapoor predicted it and now it’s happening. Cocktail 2’s newly released song, Bandhu 2.0, which is a remake of the iconic ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ track has left netizens disappointed. Soon after the song was released on Wednesday, several social media users took to their respective X handles and accused the makers of ‘spoiling’ the hit song from the 2012 movie. While some called the new track ‘garbage’, others reiterated what Shahid Kapoor joked in song’s teaser ‘Troll ho jaaeinge’.
“The Recently released Bandhu 2.0 song from #Cocktail2 is GARBAGE, It was not needed. Though this song sequence is not going to be in the movie, it will be at different point, but still what’s the point of releasing this FROOTI ADVERTISEMENT,” one of the users wrote. “This #Bollywood industry is literally destroying its own classics. Instead of creating something original, they just keep ruining the originals,” added another. “What’s wrong with the makers? Why did they shift the trend from outdoor locations to studios only?” a third user asked.

However, some of the users also defended the song and claimed that it is now remakes should be done. “For me it’s a fun song and self humour, meta comedy was there they know and they are aware of what they are doing and taking shots on the remake trend, they even said in the video when Kriti said let’s remake this song and Shahid said ke “Pagal Hai Kya Troll Ho Jayenge” it was so funny,” wrote a user.
