Manuel Neuer has confirmed that he will retire from the German national team again after the 2026 World Cup, as he bids for a second world title.

Despite his successful reintegration into the starting line-up under Nagelsmann, Neuer insists there will be no further shifts regarding his future. He is enjoying his fifth consecutive World Cup appearance, but is already preparing for life after the national team once the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico concludes.
Neuer was emphatic about his plans, saying: “For me, it is clear that this is my last tournament. I do not plan to be there in two years for the next Euros. In recent days I have come to terms with the fact that these are the last matches for Germany. But I want to look forward to all the matches and not to any farewell shirts.”
