Batting at number four in the second ODI against Afghanistan, Ishan Kishan needed just 71 balls to reach his century, while Shubman Gill completed his hundred in 77 deliveries.

India defeated Afghanistan by 170 runs in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series on Wednesday (June 17) to take a 2-0 lead.
In the match at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the hosts rode centuries from captain Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan to score 402 runs in 49.5 overs before bowling out Afghanistan for 232 in 44.3 overs.
Gill top-scored for the world’s No. 1-ranked ODI side with a brilliant 154 off 110 balls, hitting 22 fours and two sixes, while Ishan smashed 125 off just 79 deliveries, an innings studded with 14 fours and seven sixes.
Batting at number four, Ishan needed just 71 balls to reach his century, while Gill completed his hundred in 77 deliveries.

Gill and Ishan shared a 224-run partnership for the second wicket off just 140 balls, helping India cross the 400-run mark in an ODI for the eighth time.
With a total of 402, India equaled South Africa’s record for the most 400 totals in ODI history, with both teams now achieving the feat eight times.

For Afghanistan, Nanjialia Kharot was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 76 in 10 overs, while Rashid Khan returned with 3 for 48 in four overs.
Rashid batted first by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 48, with wicket-keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz catching the ball. He later removed Washington Sundar for 19 and Gurnoor Brar for 3, the latter being caught by Ibrahim Zadran off the last ball in the 47th over.
