COlympia opened World Cup The Group K campaign saw a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan at the Estadio Azteca on Wednesday, with Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz and Jaminton Campaz scoring to cap off an enthusiastic second-half reaction from the tournament’s debutants.
Uzbekistan were disciplined for long periods under Fabio Cannavaro, but Colombia’s quality was evident in front of a crowd of more than 80,000 on a cold, rainy evening.
In the other confrontation within Group K, The Democratic Republic of Congo tied with Portugal 1-1.
